I have just below 200 locs & almost 5 years in, my hair not as dense as yours & I have really fine hair strands but I love them. Can you talk to us about your loc expectations versus the reality of having your new set & more locs regards maintenance etc. are they everything you wanted them to be? Thank you for sharing 😊 🇬🇧

I use to think that Dr. Cornwell usedafrican techniques,specifically the Maasai until i.learned that their tribal technique was small braids infused with clay vs Dr. Cornwell whose technique is more similar to knitting.

Postpartum shedding is such a journey. Your hair looks beautiful btw and remember not to let the few troubled areas take away from the bigger picture ❤ I have been trimming my locs after I've seen some thickening at the base. I still have bumpy locs in these areas but my goal is to trim as I go ...just waiting it out because I'm pregnant again and still in that time of life, growing babies. So for me, the waiting game and trimmimg while I go is the path I've chosen. I'm going to also focus on growth like you've mentioned with some herb infusions like I used to do.

I’m 8 days away from being 2 months locd. I think this might be the hardest time for me. Not because I’m in an ugly phase or anything it’s because my hair is locked away and I have to wait for my next wash.

So I got my micro locs done 5 weeks ago and she only did the interlock and said the first retie she will completely loc. Is that possible

You know this video was so well done because you summed up why I think 2 point will be better for me but everything you said made perfect sense. I have finer hair and a sensitive scalp, so fluffy locs that are looser sounds like a dream. 10/10 for trying out something new yourself and sharing the results for the rest of us to learn from! Your locs are gorgeous so if it ain't broken don't fix it!

Excellent video in presenting the facts. I micro loc'd 5 months ago and I am so happy with my 287 locs! They look great and full and I get many compliments. I live outside of the ATL and my loctician is the BEST! She cares about her craft and customers and takes great care with our natural hair. I know for me getting locs was part of a healing journey after the death of my little brother earlier this year. My loctician said that all of her loc clients has a personal and deep reasoning for their loc journey. That said, yes do the research because this is a big step and rewarding!

Thank you for making a very informative, methodical, and accurate review. I too agree that the website is outdated! Strong emphasis on outdated. Also agree there should be an option to leave a review on the SisterLocks website pertaining to client experiences. I strongly feel the SisterLocks network is not holding locticians with poor business practices accountable. People choose SisterLocks based on the fact that it’s a trademark network. So, there should be some accountability. Even if it’s something as small as clients being able to rate and write a review on the SisterLocks website. But seeing how outdated the website is, having that feature may cause the site to crash. LOL Josetta, you mentioned for us to share our experience in your video, so here's mine. I had my SisterLocks establishment on March 17, 2024. The installation was great, and I was thoroughly pleased with my establishment. My grid was top-notch, took 15 hours to install and ended up with 573 locs. However, leading up to my establishment, I thought I had the perfect loctician for me who valued her customers time, but after the establishment, I quickly learned that was not the case, so I fired her. I did, however, find the perfect loctician who respects my time and keeps her appointments as scheduled. For people with a hectic work schedule and need for their appointments to not change on short notice, my advice is to make sure you find out the locticians work ethics and business practices before scheduling an establishment. Take it from me; it will save you from the aggravation of having to pay a transfer fee. Never forget, locticians are not doing their clients any favors by doing their locs, clients are paying them for a service. You do have options. Now on to my biggest frustration with the SisterLocks website: the starter shampoo is consistently out of stock. The loctician strongly advises that you exclusively use that particular shampoo until your locs lock. However, what clients are not being told by locticians is that when you go to purchase it on the SisterLocks website, it's frequently out of stock. My advice is to purchase the starter shampoo in bulk at a time. Oh, and the shipping cost is expensive as well. Okay, granted, Amazon has me spoiled with free shipping. LOL One final piece of advice: when deciding on a loctician, be sure to look for one that doesn't charge an additional fee for locs that have slipped. Contrary to what some locticians tell you, until your locs have fully matured, even when doing everything to the T, slippage is going to happen. My loctician doesn't charge extra for slippage at reties. Because my hair grows fast, I pay $140 for a retie every 5 weeks, and that's it. Also, I shampoo my locs every two weeks. My establishment was $1,500. SisterLocks are expensive, so for those considering SisterLocks, please take the time to do thorough research before deciding on a loctician. Having the wrong loctician can ruin the journey. Hopefully, what I’ve shared helps.

Hii please can I do faux locs on my short starter locs to also reduce slippage?

I combed out my locs after 18 month and kept all of my length. I was surprised! But the process of combing out my locs taught me to be more gentle with my loose natural hair 😊
